Update: Round 3 - Katherine and Darwin Juniors and Seniors

Fri, Nov 5, 2021, 1:18 AM
A 72-hour lockout in Greater Darwin and a 72-hour lockdown in Greater Katherine have been announce by the NT Government from 12:01am Friday 5th November 2021.

The Northern Territory Rugby Union Inc (NTRU) has suspended all rugby union activity and competitions in these areas for the period of this lockout/lockdown. All training, junior matches and senior matches are suspended.

All matches in the McDonalds Darwin Junior competition will be whitewashed with the Round cancelled. Adjustments will be made to competition ladders for those teams affected with a Bye in Round 3 to ensure fairness across the season.

The NTRU will work with Darwin Club Presidents and the NTRRA President to clarify what this means for the Senior XXXX A Grade, NT Bitumen and Asphalt B Grade and Women's competitions in Round 3 with a decision planned to be communicated by Tuesday evening.

The NTRU continues to work with all stakeholders to ensure the health and safety of our rugby community. The NT Government has a COVID-19 vaccination mandate that applies to all sporting organisations. This weekend is a perfect reason to be fully vaccinated and the NTRU encourage all in our broader rugby community to get vaccinated to protect the game we love.
