Alice Springs is set to roar back to life with the return of Rugby Union for the 2025 season.
The Central Australian Rugby Union (CARU) is thrilled to announce that rugby is back and better than ever, with all matches set to be played on Friday nights at the iconic Anzac Oval. The decision to shift to Friday night fixtures was made by the competition committee to bring a fresh energy to the game — and give players, families, and supporters a perfect start to their weekends.
The 2025 season kicks off on Friday 2 May and will run for six action-packed rounds, culminating in a Grand Final that promises all the excitement local rugby is known for.
"We’re really excited to welcome players, clubs, and fans back to Anzac Oval," said a CARU spokesperson. "Friday night rugby brings a new vibe and we can’t wait to see everyone and see the rugby community thriving."
