Rugby is well and truly back in the Red Centre, with a sensational turnout marking the opening night of the 2025 Central Australia Rugby Union (CARU) season at Anzac Oval.

A strong crowd of over 150 spectators turned out to support local rugby and were rewarded with a night of hard-hitting, fast-paced action featuring 61 players across four proud local clubs — the Dingo Cubs, Devils, Eagles, and Kiwi Warriors.

The evening kicked off with a 7s format clash between the Devils and Eagles, with the Devils asserting dominance to claim a 22–7 victory in the season's first match.

Next up was a Grand Final rematch between reigning champions Dingo Cubs and fierce rivals Kiwi Warriors. In a physical and tightly contested game, the Cubs once again came out on top with a hard-fought 17–10 win, setting the tone for what promises to be a thrilling season.

With strong numbers, passionate crowds, and quality rugby on display, it was a welcome return to the paddock for Central Australian rugby fans.
