NT Rugby are seeking suitable candidates to fill the role of Rugby Development Officer for the Greater Darwin region.
Key to the development of players within the Club/Schools systems. Help us create the next generation of male/female athletes as we build towards the 2027 & 2029 Rugby World Cups and the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The agreed primary objective of Rugby Australia (RA), Northern Territory Rugby Union (NTRU) and the Territory Sports Academy (TSA) Rugby Pathway and Participation Program is to improve the quantity and quality of local athletes and coaches to ensure the long-term sustainability of Rugby Union in the Northern Territory (NT).
The NTRU’s Rugby Development Officer is a key contributor to the overall development and facilitation of the Rugby Pathway and Participation Program within the NT. The primary purpose of the Rugby Development Officer role is to:
- To connect clubs and schools whist building relationships to grow the game and improve the quality of coaching and training environments, both at junior rugby clubs and schools, through education, club engagement initiatives and competitions.
- Support junior clubs with the recruitment and retention of players specifically at primary and middle school age as well as, coaches and match officials across all facets of the game. Converting participants into regular rugby players from programs or gala days.
- Deliver programs and provide opportunities that enhance, support and build our rugby communities.
