NT Rugby is pleased to formally announce the appointment of Nathan McDonald as Chief Executive Officer.

Nathan commenced working with NT Rugby on December 5 2022 following a stint as Operations Manager for NT NRL and prior roles with Touch Football in the Territory and Queensland.

With NT Rugby now back in full swing after the Christmas break, Nathan is looking forward to building the Territory game in 2023 and beyond.

“I see great potential at NT Rugby and am excited by the opportunity to help grow the Territory game, particularly across womens and juniors rugby, and I’m proud to have helped oversee an 85 per cent growth at NT Touch during my four-year tenure” Nathan said.

“As we head into a golden decade of Australian rugby with two home Rugby World Cups and a Lions tour, I hope to continue developing our community and pathways programs so Territorians get the best opportunity to showcase their talent both at home and on the national stage.”

McDonald grew up in New South Wales’ Northern Rivers playing a combination of soccer, league and touch football and has worked in sports operations since 2016.

“In 2015-16 I travelled around Australia in a caravan with my wife and 2 children, spending 4 months (wet season) working in the Darwin region – I loved it, moved across in 2018 and haven’t looked back.”
