Welcome to NT Club Corner - your one-stop shop for all the weekly news and social rugby updates from across the Top End.

Week 1 of the Darwin senior competition kicked off last weekend with four cracking games across our XXXX A-Grade Men and Women's opening rounds.

Uni Pirates jagged the season's first XXXX A-Grade win with Stylianos Vrontos' boot anchoring a 26-24 win over Dragons before doubles to Jacob Rainger and Kanae Gimini helped Souths hold off a fast-finishing Palmerston 24-19.

In the women's competition, Dragons pegged one back over reigning premiers Uni Pirates 32-5 in a rematch of last season's decider while Crocs duo Dailene Doyle and Nicki Hickman bagged braces in an impressive 36-0 win over Souths.

Here's how the ladders are looking after Week 1 of Darwin seniors:

Cougars, B-Grade & Juniors return - Week 2 Talking Points

This week sees the return of two-time defending XXXX A-Grade premiers Casuarina Cougars, who'll face Darwin Dragons at 7:30pm on Saturday night.

Casuarina's Trey Crowley snatched last year's decider 33-30 with a penalty goal on full time to break Uni Pirates hearts and another strong season could see Cougars in line for a historic hat-trick.

The NT Bitumen & Asphalt B-Grade men's competition also gets underway this Friday with Dragons and Pirates opening up after last week's bye weekend.

There'll be plenty of interest in how Katherine's Rucking Roos fare this season while reigning champs Swampdogs have to wait until Round 3 to begin their title defence.

Finally, Friday night sees our Darwin juniors competition back in full swing - we'll have three fields running across Skyring Rugby Park 1 & 2 plus Warren Park.

With teams from our U5s all the way up to U17 Boys and Girls, our 24/25 juniors season is set to be one of NT Rugby's biggest yet!

Please remember that Skyring Rugby Park is a NON Smoking venue.  It is also a licenced venue - therefore NO BYO alcohol - and we ask that non-service dogs (guide dogs etc) are left at home.
