As the 2025 rugby season kicks off, Northern Territory Rugby Union is proud to announce the successful completion of the Field 2 lighting upgrade at Skyring Rugby Park.
Thanks to the generous support of the Northern Territory Government, this important project was made possible through the Major Community Benefit Fund. It represents a major step forward in enhancing facilities for players, coaches, officials, and the wider rugby community.
The upgrade included the installation of powerful 1500W LED floodlights, delivering bright, energy-efficient lighting to significantly improve visibility and safety for evening training sessions and matches. These modern lighting systems not only enhance the on field experience but also increase access and flexibility for clubs using Field 2 throughout the season.
With the project now complete, NT Rugby is excited to see the benefits already flowing through to clubs and players. The improved lighting creates more opportunity for participation, supports player development, and enables a higher quality training environment especially important for evening programming during the peak season.
This infrastructure project is part of NT Rugby’s broader vision to improve community rugby facilities and continue building strong development pathways across the Territory.
NT Rugby sincerely thanks the Northern Territory Government for its continued investment in community sport and infrastructure that supports the growth of rugby in the NT.
We look forward to a bright and successful 2025 season under the lights!
