Commencing on Monday 8th August and running weekly over 10 weeks at NT Rugby's Rugby Park at Marrara, the program has been designed to develop the skills and attributes of the Territories talented 13 to 18 year old boys and girls.
NT Rugby's Manager Pathways and Participation, Paul Healy will lead a group of coaches from our representative programs and Club sides to deliver a high quality program providing skills and development on and off the field.
The program will contain sessions encompassing:
- Fitness/strength testing
- Catch-Pass skills
- Breakdown skills
- Tackle technique
- Defensive structures
- Game scenarios and match play
- Sports Psychology
- Nutrition
- Strength and Conditioning discussions
- Recovery and rehabilitation tips
Program dates are:
Session 1 - Monday 8th August
Session 2 - Monday 15th August
Session 3 - Monday 22nd August
Session 4 - Monday 29th August
Session 5 - Monday 5th September
Session 6 - Monday 12th September
Session 7 - Monday 19th September
Session 8 - Monday 26th September
Session 9 - Monday 3rd October
Session 10 - Monday 10th October
All sessions are held at Rugby Park Marrara commencing at 6:00pm sharp and finishing at 7:15pm.
The program is open to all players aged 13 to 18 years old with those involved receiving a squad training shirt and cap.
All players interested MUST register via the Rugby Xplorer platform - register with Northern Territory Junior Rugby Union Club and select a season registration under "XVs Academy".
There is a $15 registration fee which covers player insurance for the program. This amount will be deducted off the 2022-23 season insurance fee when the player signs on with their Club later this year.
This is an exciting new piece to the Junior Pathways and versions of this program will be rolled out across the NT Rugby community with plans to be set for Alice Springs, Katherine and East Arnhem.
