The countdown is on for the 2026 edition of the Hottest 7s, returning to Darwin over the Australia Day long weekend (23–25 January 2026), hosted by the Northern Territory Rugby Union (NTRU). The tournament, which began in 1989 and has become an international rugby festival, will once again bring together teams from across Australia and beyond.
Team registrations are now open via Rugby Xplorer, and will close Friday, 9 January 2026. All senior teams must complete their registration by this date to secure their place in the tournament.

Beyond the on-field action, the weekend will feature team socials, community events, food and entertainment, and the unique Top End atmosphere that makes this event a highlight on the rugby calendar.
